How to Turn On the CD-R Printing Mode
THIS ONLY LOOKS COMPLICATED. REMEMBER, IT'S JUST A MATTER OF PRESSING BUTTONS.

The procedure will place the printer into its “service mode.” In this mode, CD-R printing mode can be enabled (or disabled). We can also print out a sheet that shows if the CD-R mode is enabled (or disabled).
If you get confused or are not sure what the printer’s status is, the simplest thing is to unplug the printer from ac power for a few seconds and then start again at Step 1.
- Be sure the printer is plugged in and turned off.
- Enter the service mode using the following steps. NOTE: When performing the following steps, DO NOT release a button until instructed to do so.
a. Press and hold in the Resume button.
b. While holding the Resume button, press and hold the Power button.
c. After holding both buttons for at least 3 seconds, release only the Resume button.
d. Press and release the Resume button two times.
e. Release all buttons. Wait for the light to stop flashing.
f. The printer should now be in service mode. - While in the service mode, commands are given by pressing the Resume button a given number of times, followed by pressing the Power button once. We are only concerned with a couple of functions while using the service mode.
- Get a printout showing the present settings of the printer.
a. Press the Resume button 1 time and then press the Power button 1 time. - Go into the mode where we can enable CD-R printing.
a. Press the Resume button 5 times and then press the Power button 1 time.
(This line is added because steps 5.a. and 5.b. are so similar that this separation helps prevent skipping a step.)
b. Then, press the Resume button 4 times and then press the Power button 1 time. - Confirm the new settings with another printout.
a. Press the Resume button 1 time and then press the Power button 1 time.
b. The top left corner of the printout should show the model number followed by EUR in cyan. - Exit the service mode.
a. Press the Resume button 10 times. - The printer is now enabled.
- Don't forget to reinstall the printer driver.
- It's a good time to Order a Disc Dabber ™ Tray Type C.
In Step 5.b. various geographical indications on the printout can be obtained by changing the number of times the Resume button is pressed, as follows:
- JPN (cyan)
- KOR (cyan)
- US (cyan)
- EUR (cyan)
- AUS (cyan)
- ASI (cyan)
- CHN (cyan)
- TIW (cyan)
- JPN (pink)
